There was a time when I had the pleasure of collaborating with other producers: Enfor, Enrico Bigardi and Overtøne. The five tracks that came out of that period are the result of reworked demos and unfinished ideas that finally came to life, also thanks to releases through external labels. Between 2021 and 2023, the following tracks were born:
What is now called First Contact was, back in 2014, an unfinished 7-second idea. Over the years, it changed its name seven times, but it never lost its original inspiration: the sci-fi imagery of 1970s cinema. Not so much the horror of Alien, but more the enigmatic atmosphere of Close Encounters of the Third Kind.
During the 2020 lockdown, a demo of the track was played during an Instagram livestream, along with the announcement of the Meson Lab and 29 other demos . Among the demos uploaded online, First UFO Contact (as it was called at the time) stood out as the most interesting. This encouraged its completion. The track was released in November 2021.
First Contact is a successful attempt at blending cinematic atmospheres into a dance track. Although it clearly belongs to the broader House genre, even today it's difficult to place it within a specific subgenre. Its message, though simple, is about not being afraid to express your own tastes — especially when they come from different media.
Interactions between different worlds often create uniqueness.
She’s Bad was originally planned as a standalone single, with a release date set for June 4, 2018. The release was postponed for nearly two years, eventually joining other finished ideas to form the EP. Moombah Toy is inspired by Getter’s “Hecka Tight.” Designed as a tactical tool for DJ sets, it nods to a certain Moombahton groove. Kick Mule is inspired by KOAN Sound’s “Vengeance Rhythm.” It had previously been released as a single and was later included in the EP in a remastered version. The original concept for Duck Bass lasted only 15 seconds; His bass resembles a duck’s quack, but it’s actually the result of layered extreme distortion after hours of failed sound design attempts.
The EP was released on June 11, 2020. There is an alternative version for each track, more oriented toward House/Electro, but retaining the same timbral identity as their original versions.
She’s Bad EP was an attempt to approach a more festival-oriented side of electronic music, at a time when the scene was mostly influenced by Latin and Trap sounds, while still staying true to a Bass Music approach.
The VIP version (Variation In Production) of “Make the Difference” came to life almost by accident. During a production class in 2018, while demonstrating an example of additive synthesis, a melody spontaneously emerged that already worked well in its raw form. Once brought into the studio and adapted to the key of Make the Difference, it worked even better.
The inspirations for this new version draw from Future Bass and Synth Pop. Alongside Pete’s vocals and electric guitars, there’s a new rhythm guitar played by my father. We recorded it in his kitchen, plugging directly into a first-generation Scarlett 2i4. The sound quality wasn’t great… so I used that flaw to completely reshape the sound design.
Make the Difference VIP was released in the summer of 2019, with a remastered version following in 2025. The message remains the same as the original version: making a difference through your unique style, shaped by personal experience. This version tells that story with a more summery vibe.
A memory that returns, but with a different color.
The idea was born during a period of artistic transition, in 2014, just before going solo. The initial reference was "Tourniquet" by Knife Party, but with a more melodic intention.
It was clear from the beginning that, aside from a few sounds, the idea didn’t align with The Mastertrons’ typical style. The idea remained on standby, waiting for a definitive form, for two years. In 2015, after meeting and collaborating with a local guitarist and songwriter, the draft turned into a full song in 2016. Pete, inspired by the demo and the title, wrote and recorded the lyrics, vocals, and guitars, perfectly capturing the message and original intent. The track was released in the summer of 2017.
Make the Difference is a tribute to artistic uniqueness and the influences that make it possible. An invitation to enrich yourself through real experiences, absorb them, and then return them in the form of a unique sound. May it inspire other artists to do the same, in their own way.
That's how you make a difference.

So Good Baby is the first original track released under the name Luke Meson, published on January 1st, 2015 It marked the beginning of my solo project, during a time when promoting yourself through free downloads was a common practice.
Unlike Big Room, which was dominating the scene at the time, this track leaned more towards the broader Electro House genre. More specifically, its mood was influenced by a subgenre known as Fidget House—a Northern European style that was intentionally carefree and irreverent.
That wave of creative freedom also led me to experiment with unconventional sources, in this case by sampling voices and sounds from YouTube. The vocal came from a gameplay video uploaded by a British content creator. There wasn’t a specific reason for choosing it—aside from the fact that the voice had a compelling tone. Still, it was necessary to cut and decontextualize specific segments so the vocal would match the mood of the instrumental.
Even though it's an original track, So Good Baby belongs to a separate category from my main discography: the free releases. It doesn’t carry a particular message, but it represents the spirit of freedom and new beginnings that defined that specific moment in time.
